چکیده
Mycotic aneurysm of the descending aorta is usually described as rare. We present two recent cases of mycotic aneurysm of the descending aorta complicated with hemoptysis. Urgent tube graft replacements were successfully performed under cardiopulmonary bypass support. Bacterial causes of the aneurysms were methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in the first case and Staphylococcus aureus in the second case. Although the first patient died fifteenth months after surgery, the second patient remains well fourteenth months after the operation.

Hemoptysis is the rarest presentation of thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA).This critical condition is one of the life-threatening medical emergencies. Even with prompt approaches, TAA can have highly terrible outcomes. Although TAA is an almost asymptomatic condition that is accidentally discovered, imaging with contrast is the most useful modality to diagnosis it.
متن کاملSuccessful treatment of Salmonella mycotic aneurysm of the descending thoracic aorta.
Salmonella mycotic aneurysms of the descending thoracic aorta are exceedingly rare. There are few case reports and even fewer reports of long term survival. متن کاملDistal repair using the frozen elephant trunk technique to treat an extended mycotic aneurysm of the aortic arch.
We reported successful distal repair using the frozen elephant trunk technique to treat a mycotic aneurysm extending from the ascending aorta to the descending aorta. A blood culture sample was positive for Escherichia coli, and total arch replacement with a rifampicin-bonded graft covered the omental pedicle flap.

Endovascular stent grafting is applied for the treatment of different aortic pathologies in the current medical era. It may be lifesaving in patients with comorbidities and virtually inoperable when adopting conventional techniques. This manuscript reports on a 40-year-old patient, who was previously treated for a mycotic saccular aneurysm at the aortic arch and who presented with a descending ...
